Our candidates
Reaching the talent others may miss
- Many of the strongest professionals are not actively looking for a new role. They are performing well, valued by their employers and progressing successfully in their careers. As a result, they are unlikely to be applying to job advertisements or appearing in conventional candidate searches.
- Henson Recruitment takes a targeted, search-led approach to identifying and engaging this often-hidden talent pool across Sales, Marketing, Category Management and NPD roles within FMCG, consumer and B2B sectors.
Talent identified through search
Our candidate network has been developed through more than 20 years of recruitment experience, market knowledge, referrals and direct headhunting.
We look beyond job titles and CV keywords to understand each individual’s:
- Career achievements and commercial impact
- Leadership style and professional strengths
- Motivations and longer-term ambitions
- Preferred company culture and working environment
- Salary expectations and practical requirements
- Reasons they may consider leaving a successful position
This allows us to introduce candidates based on genuine suitability—not simply because they are available.
Properly engaged and fully briefed
- Before presenting a candidate, we take the time to understand what would genuinely motivate them to explore a new opportunity.
- Where there is a strong match, candidates are fully briefed on the business, role, culture, hiring manager, team structure and expectations. This means they enter the recruitment process with a clear understanding of the opportunity and a genuine reason for wanting to pursue it.
Supporting a successful appointment
- Our involvement continues throughout the recruitment process. We support candidates with interview preparation, feedback, offer negotiations, resignation and the management of potential counter-offers.
- We also remain in contact between acceptance and commencement—an important stage when strong candidates can remain vulnerable to counter-offers or approaches from other employers.
Proactive candidate introductions
- Occasionally, we identify an exceptional individual whose experience could add immediate value to a business, even when no vacancy has been advertised.
- With the candidate’s express permission, we may make a confidential and targeted introduction to selected organisations within our network. This approach can uncover valuable appointments that neither the business nor the candidate had originally anticipated.
Quality over quantity
- We do not believe that sending a large volume of CVs creates a better recruitment process.
- Our focus is on providing a carefully selected shortlist of credible, engaged and properly briefed professionals who have the experience, motivation and cultural alignment to make a meaningful impact.
